New Chinese Ambassador Chu Maoming Arrives in Dominica to Assume Office

On April 15th, H.E. Chu Maoming, the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Commonwealth of Dominica, arrived in Dominica to assume office. He was welcomed by Ms. Ezra Thomas, Chief Protocol Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Business, Trade and Energy, as well as representatives of diplomats from Chinese Embassy.

Ambassador Chu said that he’s greatly honored to assume the position of the 7th Ambassador to Dominica on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Dominica. He noted that over the years, the two countries have respected each other and treated each other as equals. With increasing political mutual trust, vigorous exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and with the deepening friendship between the two peoples, China-Dominica relations have become a good example of South-South cooperation. Ambassador Chu emphasized that he’s ready to co-consolidate the latest consensus reached by the leaders of both countries with the Dominican side, enhancing the bilateral relations, practical cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between the two nations, achieving more results and deliver more benefits for the two peoples.

Ms. Thomas, on behalf of the Dominican side, warmly welcomed Ambassador Chu's arrival. She expressed Dominica’s deep appreciation for the traditional friendship between the two nations and noted that Dominica will keep abiding firmly by the one-China principle, enhance the cooperation with Chinese Embassy and provide assistance and support to Ambassador Chu in his tenure in Dominica.
