On 13rd April, Consul General Kong Xianhua, together with Amb. Latha Reddy, former ambassador to Thailand, attended the opening ceremony on “Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore’s Visit to China” exhibition.

Consul General Kong said that China and India sympathized and helped each other in the struggle for national independence and liberation, and cooperate for win-win results in the process of national rejuvenation. China and India are natural partners in  building a community with a shared future for mankind. He hoped that the two peoples would carry forward the spirit of Tagore and Dr. Kotnis, grasp the mainstream and seek common development.

Amb. Reddy agreed with Mr. Kong, saying that Tagore's visit to China not only connected China and India, but also connected the Asia continent. China and India should deepen mutual understanding, enhance mutual trust, seek common ground while shelving differences, and jointly promote the rise of Asia.

The exhibition will last for 10 days, in which more than 60 photos related to Tagore's visit to China are displayed, attracting friends from all walks of life in Karnataka to visit.
