Chinese Ambassador to Iceland He Rulong Visits Borgarbyggð

On April 18, Ambassador He Rulong visited Borgarbyggð in western Iceland, where he met with Mayor Stefán Broddi Guðjónsson, Chairman Davíð Sigurðsson and other members of the Municipal Council.

Ambassador He exchanged views with members of the city council on China-Iceland tourism, geothermal cooperation and other concerns, after Mayor Guðjónsson introduced overall situation of Borgarbyggð. Ambassador He said cooperation between localities is an important part of China-Iceland friendship. Guðjónsson and his colleagues said that China has fascinating history, culture and impressive economic growth. Borgarbyggð is willing to strengthen exchanges with Chinese localities. Hoping to have the opportunity to visit China in the future, they sincerely hope to see more Chinese tourists to come and visit Borgarbyggð so as to strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.Borgarbyggð is the sixth largest city in Iceland, with a population of about 4,350 people. It is an important transportation hub in western Iceland.
