Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu Chairs the Third BRICS Sherpas' Meeting 2022

On June 21, 2022, Coordinator of China's BRICS Affairs and Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu chaired the Third BRICS Sherpas' Meeting 2022, which was attended by BRICS Sherpas of Russia, India, Brazil and South Africa.

Ma Zhaoxu reviewed the important progress made by the BRICS countries in economy, trade, finance, political security and people-to-people and cultural exchanges under the theme of "Foster High-quality BRICS Partnership, Usher in a New Era for Global Development" since China took over the BRICS chairmanship of 2022, and briefed on the arrangements for the opening ceremony of the BRICS Business Forum, the 14th BRICS Summit and the High-level Dialogue on Global Development from June 22 to 24. Ma Zhaoxu said that China has completed all the preparatory work and believes that with the joint efforts of all parties, the Summit will be a full success and push BRICS cooperation to a higher level.

The participants highly appreciated the leading role and work of China as the chair of the BRICS, fully affirmed the achievements and progress of BRICS cooperation in various fields this year, and expressed the readiness to continue to strengthen cooperation and jointly push for fruitful outcomes of the BRICS Summit.
