On June 23, 2022, Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Liu Jinsong met with Mongolian Ambassador to China Tuvshin Badral. The two sides had a friendly and in-depth exchange of views on China-Mongolia relations and international and regional issues of common concern.

Liu Jinsong said, China and Mongolia are inseparable neighbors, partners and friends. As State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi pointed out during a phone conversation with Mongolian Foreign Minister Ms. Batmunkh Battsetseg a few days ago, the more turbulent the international situation is, the more China and Mongolia, as close neighbors, should strengthen communication, enhance mutual trust and deepen cooperation. China attaches great importance to Mongolia's reasonable concerns, and will do its utmost to support and assist Mongolia in developing economy and improving people's well-being. China will spare no efforts to facilitate customs clearance at land ports and freight shipment via railway network, and address pressing matters.

Citing a Mongolian proverb, "the ugliness of people is hidden in their hearts, while the ugliness of snakes is shown in their appearance", Liu Jinsong said, recently, relevant countries made frequent moves to push ahead with the "Indo-Pacific strategy", seeking to militarize the regional landscape by provoking bloc confrontation and drawing ideological lines. Given that such moves are highly targeted, deceptive and harmful, they are ugly both within and without. China hopes and believes that Mongolia and other close and friendly neighbors of China will discern keenly the moves' essence, guard against the plot and stand on the right side of history.

Badral said, steered by the leaders of the two countries, exchanges and cooperation between Mongolia and China in various fields have achieved solid results. China's invaluable support has played an important role in Mongolia's economic and social development, and Mongolia sincerely thanks China for this. Mongolia highly appreciates and supports the Belt and Road Initiative and the Global Development Initiative both put forward by China, and believes that these initiatives are conducive to promoting global equity and justice, as well as sustainable development. Mongolia is ready to strengthen communication and cooperation with China, follow through on the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, and elevate bilateral relations to new heights.

Badral stressed, Mongolia adheres to the spirits of bilateral documents between Mongolia and China, will not participate in any military-political alliance against China, and will not allow any third country to use Mongolian territory to harm China's sovereignty and security.

Liu Jinsong presented Badral with President Xi Jinping's keynote speech at the Opening Ceremony of the BRICS Business Forum, remarks by State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi at the Launch of the Global Development Report, and Reality Check: Falsehoods in US Perceptions of China.
