On March 3, 2023, Assistant Foreign Minister Nong Rong met with Thai Ambassador to China Arthayudh Srisamoot.

Nong Rong recalled President Xi Jinping’s attendance at the APEC Economic Leaders Meeting in Thailand and his visit to the country last November, noting that President Xi Jinping and Thai leaders announced the consensus on building a China-Thailand community with a shared future for enhanced stability, prosperity and sustainability. China is ready to make joint efforts with Thailand to earnestly implement the important outcomes of President Xi Jinping’s historic visit to Thailand, advance exchanges and cooperation across the board in a well-coordinated manner, and maintain close coordination and collaboration between the two sides in multilateral affairs such as those related to China-ASEAN relations and Lancang-Mekong Cooperation, so as to constantly enrich the connotations of “China and Thailand are a family” in the new era.

Arthayudh said that all sectors of Thai society speak highly of the complete success of President Xi Jinping’s historic visit to Thailand, which has pushed Thailand-China relations into a new era of building a community with a shared future. Thailand is ready to make all-out efforts with China to implement the common understanding reached between leaders of the two countries, comprehensively resume exchanges at all levels, promote practical cooperation in various fields, and enhance people-to-people exchanges between the two sides – in particular, more Chinese tourists are welcome to Thailand for sightseeing – and deepen coordination and cooperation in multilateral fields including regional cooperation, so as to continuously elevate the Thailand-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to new heights.
