From 27 to 29 march, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Korean Peninsula Affairs Liu Xiaoming attended the ninth Zermatt Roundtable on Security Issues in Northeast Asia in Switzerland, during which he shared China's positions and proposals on the Korean Peninsula issue, other regional flashpoints and international security trends. He elaborated on the tenets and relevance of the Global Security Initiative and expressed China's readiness to work with other countries to explore a new path to security featuring dialogue over confrontation, partnership over alliance and win-win over zero-sum, so as to contribute more stability and certainty to a world of turbulence.

The Zermatt Roundtable on Security Issues in Northeast Asia is a track 1.5 vehicle for closed-door dialogue co-hosted by the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland and the Geneva Center for Security Policy. Senior officials and scholars from relevant countries of Northeast Asia, Switzerland and the EU attended this year's Roundtable.
