Q: On July 14, the Sudanese Government signed a peace agreement with Darfur opposition group, the Liberation and Justice Movement in Doha, capital of Qatar. How do you comment?

A: China welcomes the recent peace agreement signed by the Sudanese Government and the Liberation and Justice Movement in Qatar, which is another important and positive result in the Darfur political process and shows the sincerity of the Sudanese Government and relevant group in Darfur to politically resolve the Darfur issue through negotiations. We appreciate the unremitting efforts by the Qatar Government in this regard, hope to see implementation of the agreement in real earnest and call on other groups in Darfur to join in the political reconciliation process as soon as possible.
