On November 12, 2024, Vice Foreign Minister Deng Li held a China-Switzerland political consultation at the vice-foreign ministerial level with State Secretary of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs Alexander Fasel in Beijing.

Deng Li said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 74 years ago, China and Switzerland have worked together to foster the spirit of equality, innovation and win-win cooperation and set a good example of friendly coexistence and mutually beneficial exchanges between China and the West. China is ready to work with Switzerland to deliver on the important common understandings reached between the leaders of the two countries, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, jointly safeguard world peace and stability, and promote development and prosperity.

Alexander Fasel said that Switzerland attaches great importance to developing relations with China, firmly adheres to the one-China policy, and looks forward to closer bilateral exchanges at all levels, expanding innovative cooperation in economy, trade, investment and other fields, and strengthening coordination in international affairs.

The two sides also had an in-depth exchange of views on international and regional issues.
