Special Representative of the Chinese Government on European Affairs Wu Hongbo Visits Montenegro

From November 10 to 12, 2024, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on European Affairs Wu Hongbo visited Montenegro, during which he met with Montenegro's Foreign Policy Advisor to the President Marija Lakić Barfus, Foreign Affairs Adviser to the Prime Minister Milica Perišić, and General Director of the General Directorate for Bilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Aleksandar Drljević.

Wu positively evaluated the development of China-Montenegro relations and stated that under the leadership of the two heads of state, China-Montenegro relations have seen stable and sound development, with solid political mutual trust and cooperation in various fields continuously advancing. China is willing to make joint efforts with Montenegro to achieve greater development of bilateral relations in the next stage.

Montenegro reiterated its commitment to the one-China principle, values its traditional friendship with China, and looks forward to continuing to develop good relations with China, strengthening exchanges at all levels and in various fields, and promoting practical cooperation in fields such as economy and trade, infrastructure construction, clean energy, education, culture and scientific research, for the benefit of the people of the two countries.

The two sides also had an exchange of views on international and regional hotspot issues of mutual interest and concern.
