Special Envoy Zhai Jun of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue Visits Saudi Arabia

On April 27, 2025, Special Envoy Zhai Jun of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue visited Saudi Arabia, during which he met respectively with Saudi Arabia's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Cabinet Member Adel Al-Jubeir and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs Saud bin Mohammed Al-Sati.

Zhai Jun said that in recent years, China-Saudi Arabia relations have witnessed comprehensive, rapid and in-depth development. The leaders of the two countries have maintained close exchanges, cooperation in various fields has yielded fruitful results, and the two countries have maintained good cooperation in international and regional affairs. This year marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Saudi Arabia. China is ready to take this opportunity to work with Saudi Arabia to deliver on the important common understandings reached between the leaders of the two countries and promote greater development of China-Saudi Arabia relations.

The Saudi side stated that China is Saudi Arabia's comprehensive strategic partner. Saudi Arabia highly appreciates the mutual support and close cooperation between both sides on issues concerning each other's core interests. Saudi Arabia is willing to work with China to seek greater synergy of development strategies, strengthen cooperation in areas such as economy, trade and investment, and jointly commit to upholding the principle of non-interference in internal affairs on international and regional affairs.
