From May 13 to 15, 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a visit to Hunan for members of the African diplomatic corps in China. Senior diplomats, including ambassadors and chargés d'affaires a.i. from 50 countries such as Cameroon, Egypt, Kenya, Zambia, Morocco, and the representative of the African Union in China, participated in the delegation. Special Envoy Zhai Jun of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue accompanied the delegation.

Secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee Shen Xiaoming met with the delegation. Secretary Shen stated that President Xi Jinping attaches great importance to the development of China-Africa relations, elevating the overall positioning of China-Africa relations to a strategic height of an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era. In recent years, driven by the establishment of national platforms for cooperation with Africa in Hunan, including the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo and the Pioneering Zone for In-depth China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation, Hunan has seen increasingly frequent and in-depth exchanges and cooperation with African countries, and is becoming an important "bridgehead" for China's economic and trade cooperation with Africa. Secretary Shen expressed the willingness to strengthen economic and trade exchanges with all countries and work together to create a better future.

Members of the diplomatic corps in China visited the former residence and memorial hall of Comrade Mao Zedong, presented flower baskets, attended the opening ceremony of the 4th Changsha International Construction Equipment Exhibition, and inspected the Hunan Export Products Agglomeration Zone, Hunan Hybrid Rice Research Center, and SANY Silicon Energy. They highly praised Hunan's development achievements and expressed their willingness to fully play the role of a bridge to strengthen China-Africa exchanges and cooperation to achieve mutual benefits and win-win outcomes.
