From May 9 to 16, 2025, Special Envoy on Afghan Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yue Xiaoyong visited Afghanistan and Türkiye.

During his stay in Afghanistan, Yue Xiaoyong, together with Pakistani Prime Minister's Special Representative on Afghan Affairs Mohammad Sadiq, successively met with the Afghan interim government's Acting Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce Nooruddin Azizi, and Acting Minister of Interior Affairs Sirajuddin Haqqani. During his visit to Türkiye, Yue Xiaoyong met respectively with Türkiye's Deputy Foreign Minister A. Berris Ekinci and Director General for South Asia at Türkiye's Foreign Ministry Cihad Erginay. All parties exchanged views on issues of common interest and concern.
