On June 5, 2025, Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Liu Jinsong held a new round of institutionalized consultation between the director-generals of the departments of Asian affairs of the foreign ministries of China and Japan with Director-General of the Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan Masaaki Kanai in Nagoya, Japan. The two sides conducted comprehensive, in-depth, and constructive exchanges on various aspects of China-Japan relations.
