On June 23, 2025, Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Bin met with newly-appointed Ambassador of Iran to China Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli.

Liu Bin welcomed Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli for assuming his new post in China, stating that China and Iran enjoy a traditional friendship, and developing China-Iran relations serves the common interests of the two peoples. China is closely following the development of the regional situation, opposes actions that infringe upon Iran's sovereignty, security and territorial integrity, and opposes moves that escalate tensions and enlarge conflicts. China is willing to maintain communication with Iran and play a constructive role in restoring peace and stability in the Middle East.

Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli expressed gratitude to China for upholding a just position, and expected China to continue playing an active role in de-escalating the situation and upholding international fairness and justice.
