June 25, 2025On June 25, 2025, Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu met with Executive Director of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) Jorge Moreira da Silva.

Miao Deyu noted that the current international landscape is marked by transformation and turbulence, posing challenges to the U.N.-centered international system. He said that China remains committed to true multilateralism, staunchly upholds the authority and status of the United Nations, and supports the United Nations in playing a central role in international affairs.

Jorge Moreira da Silva expressed appreciation for China's steadfast support for the United Nations and said that UNOPS looks forward to deepening cooperation with China to advance the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The two sides also exchanged views on enhancing cooperation in areas such as U.N. procurement.
