- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Organizes Visit for Diplomatic Envoys to the Thematic Exhibition Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War

On July 17, 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs invited diplomatic envoys and diplomats from 112 embassies and 10 international organizations in China to visit the thematic exhibition "For National Liberation and World Peace: Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War". Assistant Foreign Minister Hong Lei attended the event and delivered remarks.

Hong Lei noted that as the principal theater of the World Anti-Fascist War in the East, the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression began the earliest, lasted the longest, incurred the greatest sacrifices, and played a decisive role in the complete defeat of Japanese aggressors. The Communist Party of China (CPC) fought courageously on the front lines of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, charted the course of China's resistance, and served as the mainstay of the entire nation's resistance effort. All the sons and daughters of the Chinese nation made tremendous sacrifices, with over 35 million military and civilian casualties, and composed a heroic epic of fighting for the survival of China, for the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and for the justice of humanity. The Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression received broad support from the international community. The Chinese people will forever remember the significant contributions made by people from various countries to the victory of China's resistance.

Hong Lei emphasized that remembering history means defending the outcomes of victory of the World War II (WWII) and the post-war international order. Taiwan's return to China is a victorious outcome of WWII and an integral part of the post-war international order, and the historical and legal facts are beyond any doubt. China is ready to work with all countries to firmly uphold the international system with the United Nations at its core, jointly oppose hegemonism and power politics, practice true multilateralism, and join hands to build a peaceful world and a community with a shared future for mankind.

The diplomatic envoys listened attentively to the explanations, and paused frequently to view precious historical photos and artifacts. They expressed that through this exhibition, they gained a deeper understanding of the tremendous sacrifices and contributions made by the CPC and the Chinese people to the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War. They said all countries should learn from history and work together to create a better future for the world.
