From July 22 to 28, 2025, Special Envoy on Afghan Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yue Xiaoyong visited Afghanistan and Pakistan.

During his visit to Afghanistan, Yue Xiaoyong met with Acting Foreign Minister of the Afghan Interim Government Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, and they exchanged views on China-Afghanistan relations and practical cooperation in various fields. During his visit to Pakistan, Yue Xiaoyong met separately with Pakistani Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch and Prime Minister's Special Representative for Afghanistan Muhammad Sadiq Khan, and they exchanged views on issues of common interest and concern.
