Special Envoy for Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Visits Cambodia for Work on the Cambodia-Thailand Border Conflict

From September 12 to 13, 2025, Special Envoy for Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Deng Xijun visited Cambodia, during which he met separately with Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces Vong Pisen, Permanent Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Eat Sophea, and Secretary of State of the Ministry of National Defense Rat Dararath.

Deng Xijun stated that peaceful coexistence and cooperation for development serve the common interests of Cambodia, Thailand, and their peoples. China is ready to promote the implementation of the consensus reached in Anning by the foreign ministers of China, Cambodia, and Thailand. China supports Cambodia and Thailand in strengthening dialogue and consultation, and supports ASEAN in properly resolving disputes in the ASEAN way. China is ready to continue providing necessary assistance to achieve a sustainable ceasefire and promote a turnaround in Cambodia-Thailand relations.

The Cambodian side appreciates the considerable efforts made by the Chinese side over a period of time to ease tensions on the Cambodia-Thailand border and promote the peaceful resolution of disputes. Cambodia welcomes China's continued constructive role.
