On January 30, 2026, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Long Zhou and Director of the Crisis Management Centre of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Yuri Andreevich Gorlach co-chaired the first China-Russia consultation on overseas citizens' safety affairs in Beijing. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on the current international and regional security situation, the protection of the safety of overseas citizens, and other issues.
