Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong Meets with Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun

On March 12, 2026, Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong met with Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun. Deputy Ambassador of Indonesia to China Irene was present at the meeting.

Sun Weidong noted that over the past year, China and Indonesia jointly celebrated the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. President Xi Jinping and President Prabowo Subianto held an important meeting, steering bilateral relations to maintain robust development. The year 2026 marks the first year of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan period.  China is committed to promoting high-quality development and implementing high-standard opening up, providing more opportunities to the international community, including Indonesia. China stands ready to strengthen the synergy of development strategies with Indonesia, advance hand in hand on our respective paths to modernization, enhance communication and coordination on international and regional affairs, and promote deeper and more substantive progress in building a China-Indonesia community with a shared future, making greater contributions to peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and the whole world.

Djauhari Oratmangun congratulated China on the successful conclusion of the Two Sessions and spoke highly of the new achievements made in China’s economic and social development. He expressed confidence that China will achieve even greater progress during the 15th Five-Year Plan period and noted that Indonesia-China relations have continued to develop rapidly, with the two countries maintaining close high-level exchanges, sustained growth in economic, trade and investment cooperation and ever-deepening people-to-people exchanges. Indonesia firmly adheres to the one-China principle and stands ready to enhance friendship and mutual trust with China, expand practical cooperation in various fields between the two countries and push bilateral relations to new levels. Indonesia supports China serving as the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) host in 2026, and is willing to work closely with China on multilateral coordination to contribute to peace and development in the region and the world.

The two sides also exchanged views on the international and regional situations as well as other issues of common concern.
