On April 1, 2026, Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Liu Jinsong met with the newly-appointed Director General of the China Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Muhammad Tariq Wazir. Pakistani Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi attended the meeting. The two sides had a friendly and in-depth exchange of views on China-Pakistan relations.
