On May 26, 2026, Assistant Foreign Minister and Director-General of the Protocol Department of the Foreign Ministry Hong Lei accepted respectively the copies of credentials presented by newly-appointed Ambassador of Sao Tome and Principe to China Feliciano Bonfim da Mata, and newly-appointed Ambassador of Madagascar to China Randrianomenjanahary Richard Lalaina, both of whom arrived in China on May 13.
