President Hu Jintao Appoints New Ambassadors

Chinese President Hu Jintao announced the appointment of six new ambassadors to foreign countries and international organizations in accordance with a decision made by the National People's Congress Standing Committee.

Wu Hailong was appointed ambassador and head of the Mission of the People's Republic of China to the European Union, replacing Song Zhe.

Liu Zhenmin was appointed ambassador and permanent representative of the Permanent Mission to the United Nations Office at Geneva and Other International Organizations in Switzerland, replacing He Yafei.

Li Jun was appointed ambassador to Bangladesh, replacing Zhang Xianyi.

Cui Jianchun was appointed ambassador to Kuwait, replacing Huang Jiemin.

Zhang Guoqing was appointed ambassador to Cote d'Ivoire, replacing Wei Wenhua.

Zhang Tuo was appointed ambassador to Cuba, replacing Liu Yuqin
