On May 16, 2023, Ambassador Hou Yue met with H.E. Anette Trettebergstuen, Minister of Culture and Equality of Norway.

Ambassador Hou said that last week, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang paid a successful visit to Norway and reached a series of important consensus with the Norwegian side, which injects new impetus into the bilateral relations. People-to-people exchanges, especially cooperation in culture and sports, are important components of bilateral relations. We look forward to working together with Your Excellency to enhance mutual understandings and further deepen the friendship between our two peoples.

Trettebergstuen welcomed Ambassador Hou’s assumption of office. She said that China has a long history and splendid culture. The Norway-China cooperation in culture and sports has already achieved fruitful results, and harbors great potential for future development. She is willing to work with Ambassador Hou to continuously promote bilateral cultural and people-to-people exchanges, and make due contributions to deepen the friendship between the two countries.
