On June 21, 2023, the “Beautiful Shandong” photo exhibition, which is also a “Tea For Harmony - Yaji Cultural Salon” event, was held at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Cultural Center in Kuwait, with the presence of Ambassador Zhang Jianwei, Deng Yunfeng, Deputy Governor of Shandong Province, and Siham Al-Dawas Al-Azmi, Assistant Secretary-General for the Antiquities and Museums Sector of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters. Over 600 guests, including Kuwaiti officials and friends, foreign diplomatic envoys to Kuwait, and representatives of Chinese institutions and the Chinese community in Kuwait, attended the event.

Ambassador Zhang and Deputy Governor Deng Yunfeng invited guests to taste tea from Shandong, and briefed them on the cultural substance of “Tea For Harmony” and traditional Chinese tea processing techniques. They also discussed the concept of green development that stresses harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature.

During the event, guests were given a unique cultural feast that includes tea art performance, taste of refreshments, Hanfu show, Guzheng performances, the photo exhibition and artistic performance. Noting that China is the hometown of tea and has time-honored tea culture, they looked forward to more opportunities to learn more about Chinese culture, adding that cultural exchanges will enable us to forge a stronger bond between the peoples and pursue common development and prosperity.
