On April 21, 2024, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei met with Editor-in-Chief of Al Seyassah Ahmed Al-Jarallah. They exchanged their opinions on efforts to strengthen media cooperation.

Ambassador Zhang noted that as an influential major newspaper in Kuwait, Al Seyassah has played an active role in giving coverage to China-related events, making contributions to promoting practical cooperation between the two sides and deepening the traditional friendship. China is ready to expand cooperation with Kuwaiti news agencies including Al Seyassah so as to contribute to better bilateral relations.

For his part, Ahmed highly praised China’s major achievements and its active role in regional and international affairs. He noted that all sectors of society in Kuwait pay close attention to China’s development, saying that Kuwaiti media outlets will further enhance cooperation with the Chinese Embassy, ramp up their efforts on the coverage of China-related affairs, present the local audience a real China in a better way, and facilitate friendly exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.

Founded in 1965, Al Seyassah has been one of the mainstream media outlets in Kuwait with extensive local influence.
