On 25 July 2024, at the invitation of the APLNG, the Chinese Consul-General in Brisbane Dr RUAN Zongze paid a site visit to APLNG operated by Origin Energy at Chinchilla town QLD. Ms CHEN Lin, General Manager of Sinopec Oil and Gas Australia`, Mr ZHENG Gan, General Manager of Sinopec International Australia, and Mr SHI Wenhua, Vice Consul from the Consulate-General accompanied.

During the visit, Dr RUAN exchanged views with Stephen Thatcher, General Manager of the Asset East, Integrated Gas, Origin on promoting cooperation in green energy between China and Queensland. Dr Ruan said that the APLNG project invested by Sinopec, involving a number of multinational enterprises, is a highlight to promote China-Queensland economic and trade cooperation with mutual benefits. He hopes that Sinopec in Australia and its partner Origin will continue to work together to make new contributions to China-Queensland relations.
