Chinese Embassy in South Sudan Holds Reception Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China

On September 25, the Chinese Embassy in South Sudan held a reception celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Ambassador MA Qiang and Hon. Monday Semaya Kumba, Acting Foreign Minister of South Sudan,addressed the reception. More than 200 representatives from the South Sudanese government, political parties, and various sectors, including H.E. Senior Presidential Advisor Kuol Manyang Juuk, Hon. Minister of Roads and Bridges Simon Mijok Mijak, and Hon. Governor of Bank of South Sudan James Alic Garang, as well as members of the China medical team, peacekeeping forces, and Chinese enterprises in South Sudan, gathered at the event.

Ambassador MA reviewed the great achievements China has made over the past 75 years since its founding, noting that the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee has opened a bright path for Chinese modernization. He emphasized China’s readiness to work with South Sudan and other African countries to well implement the outcomes of the just-concluded Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, so as to build an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era.

On behalf of H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit, Acting Foreign Minister Monday extended congratulations on the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, spoke highly of China’s development achievements, as well as the progress in China-Africa cooperation and China-South Sudan relations, and reaffirmed South Sudan’s adherence to the One-China policy and its firm support for the Three Global Initiatives and the vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind. The reception was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
