On 1 December, Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives H.E. Wang Lixin paid a farewell call on Hon. Speaker of the Maldives Mr. Abdul Raheem Abdulla. Deputy Speaker of the Maldives Hon. Ahmed Nazim and Minister-Councilor of the Embassy Ms. He Fen were present.

The relations of our two countries have come to a new high. Political mutual trust between China and the Maldives has been continuously enhanced, practical cooperation has yielded fruitful results, and people-to-people and cultural exchanges have become increasingly closer. China is willing to work with the Maldivian side to take the opportunity of implementing the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, and to promote the continuous deepening and advancement of the China-Maldives comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, so as to better benefit the peoples of both countries.

Speaker and Deputy Speaker happily recalled their visit to China earlier this year, highly appreciating China’s long-standing strong support for Maldives’ economic and social development. They expressed gratitude to Ambassador Wang for her tireless efforts in promoting the development of China-Maldives relations and stated that they will continue to dedicate themselves to the cause of Maldives-China friendship so as to continually enhance the well-being of the Maldivian people.
