On 1 December 2024, Her Excellency Chinese Ambassador to The Bahamas, Yan Jiarong,at the invitation of the Hon. Minister of Foreign Affairs of The Bahamas, Fred Mitchell, attended the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in the Fox Hill community of Nassau.

Ambassador Yan extended festive greetings to the community and emphasized China’s commitment to enhancing cultural exchanges and the people-to-people bonds between the two nations, further strengthening the friendship between the two peoples.

Ambassador Yan and embassy staff attended the Christmas tree lighting ceremony and watched the cultural performances, engaging warmly with community people old and young. She also joined the community’s Junkanoo parade, singing and dancing alongside Fox Hillians.
