On November 25, the Dominican President’s Charities Foundation Inc. hosted a cheque donations presentation ceremony, attended by President H.E. Sylvanie Burton, D.A.H., and Mr. Burton, Hon. Dr. Vince Henderson, Minister for Foreign Affairs, International Business, Trade and Energy, Hon. Melissa Poponne-Skerrit, Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Roland Royer, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy, Hon. Dr. Cassandra Williams, Minister of State in the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Social Services, with special responsibility for Seniors Security, Children at Risk, Gender Affairs and the Differently Abled, and Hon. Fenella Wenham-Sheppard,  Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Human Resource Planning, Vocational Training and National Excellence, with specific responsibility for Education Reform and Human Resource Development. H.E. Chu Maoming, Chinese Ambassador to Dominica, was also invited to participate in the event.

In her remarks, Minister Poponne-Skerrit highly commended China’s selfless support for community development in Dominica. She expressed confidence that the completion of ongoing practical cooperation projects will further enhance the quality of life for Dominicans and looked forward to continued collaboration with China in public welfare affairs in the future.  

Ambassador Chu Maoming engaged in cordial discussions with President Burton and other attendees and presented donations as a guest representative.
