On 19 November, Consul General Li Nan visited Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, and met with Chair Cllr. John McClaughry, Chief Executive Alison McCullagh, and exchanged views on deepening cooperation with China.

Consul General Li said that local co-operation is an important foundation of China-UK relations. Fermanagh is a major District Council of Northern Ireland with a long history and rich resources in Agri-food processing, advanced manufacturing, clean energy, culture and tourism. The Consulate General is willing to play a good role as a bridge to help Fermanagh deepen its relationship with its Chinese sistercity of Huangshi, promote mutual visits and exchanges, and actively participate in China's economic and trade co-operation platforms, so as to promote the development of China-UK relations from the local level in a the steady, substantial and enduring way.

The Chair welcomed Consul General’s visit, introduced the city's advantageous industries, business environment and intention of cooperation with China, and expressed that he attaches importance to the development of friendly relations with China, and welcomes all potential investors to share development opportunities.
