Chinese Ambassador to Liberia Yin Chengwu Attends Groundbreaking Ceremony of China-Aid Project of National Clinical Diagnosis and Treatment Laboratory

On December 20, the Ministry of Defense of the republic of Liberia held a groundbreaking ceremony for the China-Aid Project of National Clinical Diagnosis and Treatment Laboratory, which was attended and addressed by H.E. Yin Chengwu, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia and H.E. Joseph Nyuma Boakai, President of the Republic of Liberia. Hon. Geraldine Janet George, Minister of National Defense, Cllr. N. Oswald Tweh, Minister of Justice,and Mr Ji Kecheng , CFO of the general contractor, Shandong Hi-Speed Group as well as his entourage attended.

Ambassador Yin highlighted that the project reflects China's strong determination to implement the outcomes of the meeting between the heads of state of China and Liberia and the summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), and it is a vivid example of China and Liberia joining hands to implement the Partnership Action for Health and the Partnership Action for Common Security. Ambassador Yin pointed out that the Project is a milestone in the history of the 14th Military Hospital and Armed Forces. Upon completion, it will provide high-quality medical services not only for the military personnel, but more importantly for the whole population of Liberia, hoping that it will push forward the ARREST agenda and China-Africa Community with a Shared Future.

President Boakai expressed gratitude to the Chinese Government for its assistance, noting that the project is a testament of bilateral friendship, and will not only provide the state of the art diagnostic and treatment facilities and equipment for the military, but also high-quality medical services for the entire population.

Other guests thanked the Chinese government for assistance and stated that they would make good use of the project to provide better medical services for the people.
