On December 21,  Yin Chengwu, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia, attended the Centennial Celebration of the Township of Oldest Congo Town. The ceremony was also attended by Mr. Edward Horton Lahai, Commissioner of the Township of Oldest Congo Town.

Yin congratulated Oldest Congo Town on its 100th anniversary, saying that the Chinese Embassy in Liberia, which is located in Oldest Congo Town, has received support and assistance from the town over the years, and the two sides have built up a sincere friendship. At the same time, Oldest Congo Town has always benefited from the friendly relations between China and Liberia. China is willing to continue to maintain good cooperative relations with Oldest Congo Town and the people of Liberia, and wishes the people of Liberia, including Oldest Congo Town, a better and better life.

Commissioner Lahai thanked China for their help for the town's development and is willing to continue to make efforts to develop friendly relations between the two countries.
