On March 18, 2025, Consul General Xu Wei met with Yaghoob Dabirinejad, Vice Chairman of the Islamic City Council of Bandar Abbas , and exchanged views on closer cooperation at subnational levels.

Consul General Xu extended Nowruz greetings to Dabirinejad, stating that the Islamic City Council, which represents public will at the local level, plays a key role in promoting regional development and improving people’s lives. As China and Iran share a traditional friendship with practical cooperation in steady progress, China is ready to step up the exchange of experience in state governance and deepen cooperation in various fields to implement more high-quality projects and deliver more benefits to the two peoples.

Dabirinejad said, the growing awareness of Iran-China friendship and cooperation among people in southern Iran in recent years promises greater opportunities for local-level cooperation.
