On April 2, 2025, Chinese Ambassador to Samoa Fei Mingxing attended the Reception Marking the Implementation of China-Samoa Mutual Visa Exemption Agreement and delivered a speech. Among distinguished guests are Chairlady of Samoa Tourism Authority Board Ms. Tauiliili Alise Stunnenberg, President of Samoa Chamber of Commerce Mr. Fa'aso'otauloa Sam Saili, and representatives of visa-free visitors to China.
Ambassador Fei stated that the implementation of the agreement marks a new milestone in bilateral relations, and will facilitate people-to-people exchanges, enhance economic and trade cooperation, and promote cultural interactions. With a strong foundation of friendship and immense potential for collaboration, the agreement will strengthen an even closer China-Pacific Island community with a shared future. He also encouraged various sectors in Samoa to embrace the opportunities brought by China’s development.
Samoan representatives said that the mutual visa exemption will strengthen exchanges and cooperation in tourism, economy, trade, culture and other fields, and they are proud of the friendship between China and Samoa, looking forward to learning more about China through the visa exemption policy.
