On April 23, Ambassador Li Song met with UNIDO Director General Mr. Gerd Müller and in-depth exchanged of views on strengthening bilateral cooperation between China and UNIDO. Ambassador Li said that China attaches great importance to enhancing relationship with UNIDO. Under the leadership of DG Müller, the communication and cooperation between China and UNIDO are continuously improving. DG Müller is always actively supporting the industrialization of Member States and developing countries, expanding significantly cooperation channels. The UNIDO’s importance and influence are notably improved.

China supports the re-election of DG Müller. As the largest contributor to UNIDO's assessed contributions, China is prepared to work together with UNIDO and all member states to actively implement the three Global Initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping, jointly promote world prosperity and stability, support the industrialization and modernization of Global South, advance global common development for building a community with a shared future for mankind.
