On 23 April 2025, Her Excellency Chinese Ambassador to The Bahamas, Yan Jiarong, attended a symposium between the Embassy and the Bahamas China Friendship Association (BCFA). The two sides discussed strengthening friendly exchanges between the two peoples. BCFA President Dr. Donovan Moxey, Vice President Ms. Erica Munroe, Counsellor & DCM Zhang Hongliang and commercial attache Peng Jing were also in attendance.

Yan introduced the upcoming Fourth Ministerial Meeting of the China-CELAC Forum and China's policy and practice of mutual respect, equality, and mutual benefit towards Latin American and Caribbean countries. Yan appreciated the contribution of BCFA to the cultural exchanges between China and The Bahamas over the years. She expressed the Chinese Embassy's willingness to strengthen cooperation with BCFA to jointly nurture cultural brands such as the Dragon Boat Festival, Kite Festival, and Calligraphy event to help the Bahamian people better understand China and explore business opportunities. The BCFA said it would make greater contributions to deepening the friendship and promoting economic, trade, and cultural exchanges between the two peoples.
