Chinese Consulate General in Perth Holds Open Day Event

On April 26, 2025, the Consulate General of China in Perth held an open day with the theme of "Visit the Consulate General, Experience Chinese Culture". Consul General Long Dingbin attended and delivered a speech. Senior deputy vice-Chancellor of UWA, Tim Colmer, vice-President of Curtin University, Linley Lord, National President of the Australia-China Youth Association,  Mackenzie Lang, and around 120 teachers and students from WA universities were present.

Consul General Long introduced the key outcomes of the Central Conference on Work Related to Neighboring Countries and the Conference for Chiefs of Overseas Mission. He stated that China will foster an amicable, secure and prosperous neighborhood, follow the policy and principle featuring amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness and pursue to build a community with a shared future with neighboring countries. China and Australia are both located in the Asia Pacific region, the relationship and cooperation between China and Australia is broad and profound. He emphasized that there are no winners in tariff or trade wars, and protectionism is a dead end. He welcomed the young friends and encouraged them act as messengers and bridges of China-Australia friendship. Former teacher in China, Carline Kelers, shared her memorable teaching experience and life in China.

The event was lively, and the guests fully immersed themselves in traditional Chinese cultural activities such as making dumplings, Tai Chi, calligraphy, tea art and pitching pots.
