Chinese Ambassador to Tanzania Chen Mingjian Attends the Symposium Marking the 20th Anniversary of the Enforcement of the Anti-Secession Law

On April 27th, the China Council for the Promotion of Peaceful National Reunification in Tanzania held the symposium marking the 20th anniversary of the enforcement of the Anti-Secession Law in Dar es Salaam. Chinese Ambassador to Tanzania H.E. Chen Mingjian attended the event and delivered a speech. Nearly 100 representatives of the local Chinese community were present.

Ambassador Chen expounded the historical context of the Taiwan question and UNGA Resolution 2758, and emphasized that the history and the reality affirm Taiwan is an inalienable part of China. She noted that over the past 20 years, under the strong leadership of the Central Committee of the CPC, China has comprehensively implemented the law, maintained the initiative and the ability to steer in cross-Strait relations, and made new progress in opposing “Taiwan independence” and promoting reunification. She spoke highly of the positive role played by overseas Chinese in Tanzania in the efforts, and encouraged them to uphold national unity and reunification, facilitate exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, promote the integrated development across the Taiwan Strait.

 The representatives of the local Chinese community unanimously expressed their unity in firmly opposing any separatist attempts or acts, and voicing the call to safeguard national reunification.
