On April 30th, H.E. Mr. Kong Xianhua, the newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives, presented the copy of his credentials to Mr. Mohamed Shahudy, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Chief of Protocol of the Maldives.
Ambassador Kong expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and said that the current China-Maldives relationship is at its best point in history. At this moment, having been appointed by President Xi Jinping as the Ambassador to the Maldives, he felt deeply honored and was acutely aware of the great responsibility. He pledged to earnestly implement the guiding principles of the Central Conference on Work related to Neighboring Countries, work with the Maldivian side to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, and further enhance political mutual trust between China and the Maldives, deepen development integration, strengthen security cooperation, promote people-to-people exchanges, and continue to advance China-Maldives Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, striving to build a China-Maldives community with a shared future.
Mr. Shahudy warmly welcomed Ambassador Kong to the Maldives and expressed the Maldivian side’s readiness to provide support and convenience for his work. He emphasized that the Maldives attaches great importance to the development of its relations with China and is willing to maintain close contact with China to continuously promote friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields.
