On May 12, 2025, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei, along with Li Baoqing, General Manager of the State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC), and Dr. Sabeeh Al-Mukhaizeem, Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy of Kuwait, inspected the site of the China-Kuwait renewable energy cooperation project in Shagaya. The parties engaged in in-depth discussions on key matters and the future prospects of the project.

During the discussions, Ambassador Zhang emphasized that Kuwait is rich in energy resources and SPIC possesses strong technical and operational capabilities, highlighting the vast potential for cooperation between the two sides. He stressed the need for both sides to jointly create favorable conditions to advance the project.

All parties agreed that the China-Kuwait renewable energy cooperation project is one of the significant agreements signed under the witness of the two heads of state. It is also a eagerly awaited project across various sectors in Kuwait. They pledged to make every effort to ensure its implementation, striving for its early completion to better benefit the people of Kuwait.
