China’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Ambassador Li Song delivered a statement at the 41st session of UNIDO Programme and Budget Committee on May 13, . He emphasized that the international community needs strong voice in upholding multilateralism, strengthen solidarity and cooperation, and promoting common development. At present, unilateralism, protectionism, and acts of economic coercion are seriously undermining the rules-based multilateral trading system, posing significant negative impacts on the current international order and global industrial division of labor. UNIDO and all member states should work together to uphold multilateralism, oppose protectionism, advocate fair competition under universally accepted international rules, safeguard free trade, and ensure the stability and smooth functioning of global supply chains, thus defending our space for development. China is willing to strengthen cooperation with UNIDO, jointly build the Belt and Road Initiative with high quality, implement the Global Development Initiative, and actively build a community with a shared future for mankind, so as to offer new opportunities, create new space, and inject new momentum into global development.
