On May 13, 2025, Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria Yu Dunhai met with Senator Ali, Chairman of the Nigerian Senate Committee on Agricultural Colleges and Institutions.

Ambassador Yu stated that China-Nigeria cooperation in the agricultural sector is flourishing, yielding remarkable results and offering vast potential. China is willing to work with Nigeria to implement the "China-Africa Cooperation on Agricultural Modernization Plan" proposed at the China-Africa Leaders' Dialogue, as well as the "Prosperity and Agriculture" initiative of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Beijing Summit. He emphasized the importance of enhancing exchanges and mutual learning between agricultural institutions in both countries, strengthening capacity building, promoting agricultural research and technical cooperation, and increasing the value chain and added value of agricultural products—further enriching the content of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Nigeria.

Senator Ali remarked that Nigeria and China enjoy a long-standing friendly relationship with fruitful practical cooperation. Nigeria looks forward to deepening collaboration with China in agricultural education and institutional development, actively engaging in technological innovation exchanges, expanding agricultural exports to China, and drawing from China's experience and solutions to support the country's agricultural modernization.
