On May 23rd, Yin Chengwu, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia, attended the final of the 24th "Chinese Bridge" Competition held at the University of Liberia and delivered a speech. Hon. Prof. Layli Maparyan, President of the UL, Hon. Eugene L. Faghon, Director General of LBS attended the event.

Yin stated that the Chinese language carries thousands of years of civilizational wisdom and it’s a window to Chinese culture and a bridge to promote communication and cooperation, hoped more people understand China and Chinese culture through Chinese. Yin encouraged Liberian students to learn Chinese well, enhance people to people exchanges, and promote the continuous development of China-Liberia and China-Africa friendship.

Both Maparyan and Faghon praised fruitful cooperation between China and Liberia, encouraged students to actively learn Chinese, embrace new knowledge and opportunities, and promote friendship between the two countries.
