On May 22th, Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives H.E. Mr. Kong Xianhua signed Exchange Letter of Feasibility Study on the Development of Council Buildings in the Outer Islands Project with Maldivian Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure Mr. Abdulla Muththalib. Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works Mr. Adam Shareef Umar and Counselor Mr. Zhang Xu from the Chinese Embassy attended the ceremony.

Ambassador Kong said that the project will help improve the basic office conditions of the Council in the Outer Islands of Maldives and further enhance the level of modernization of local governance. We look forward to close cooperation between the two sides to ensure the efficient advancement of the feasibility study of the project and lay a solid foundation for subsequent construction.

 Minister Muththalib and Minister Shareef expressed their gratitude to China for its long-term support and help, and hoped that the two sides would continue to strengthen pragmatic cooperation for the benefit of the people of the two countries.
