On 24 June 2025, Her Excellency Yan Jiarong, Chinese Ambassador to The Bahamas, met with teachers and students from the University of The Bahamas (UB) who were about to go to China to attend the summer camp hosted by Nanjing University of Information and Science and Technology (NUIST). The summer camp is one of the important projects of the Confucius Institute (CI), which NUIST and UB jointly developed.
Ambassador Yan highly commended the contribution made by the CI in teaching the Chinese language and promoting cultural exchanges over the past decade. She encouraged students to cherish the opportunity to find the real China, experience China's economic and social development, understand China's long history and brilliant culture, and actively promote China-Bahamas educational cooperation and people-to-people exchanges. Ambassador Yan also introduced the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War and the historical context of the Taiwan question.
The teachers and students thanked the embassy for its long-term support for educational exchanges between The Bahamas and China, expressed their willingness to be messengers of friendship between the two countries, and looked forward to the upcoming trip to China. Interactions on the scene were active, with very warm atmosphere.
