On July 17, Chinese Embassy in Malaysia hosted a reception celebrating the 98th Anniversary of the Founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), which welcomed over 300 guests, including Malaysia's military and government officials, friends from various sectors, along with foreign envoys and military attachés in Malaysia.
H.E. Ambassador Ouyang Yujing said that China has always been a builder of world peace, a contributor to global development, and a defender for international order. In April this year, President Xi Jinping undertook a state visit to Malaysia, during which the two countries reached important consensus on building a high-level strategic China-Malaysia community with a shared future. China and Malaysia will further strengthen high-quality cooperation and inject robust vitality into regional peace and stability, development and prosperity.
Defence Attaché Liu Chaowei said that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, historical catastrophes must not be repeated. While China firmly pursues a national defense policy that is defensive in nature, the Chinese military has made important contributions in international peacekeeping, escort, rescue and other operations. Building on the close military exchanges at present, China and Malaysia will further advance military ties to a new level in the future.
