On July 30th, the Chinese Embassy in Norway held a reception to celebrate the 98th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA). Nearly 100 guests, including dignitaries from the Norwegian military, government, and business community, as well as Military Attachés, overseas Chinese, participated the reception. Chinese Ambassador, H.E. Ms. Hou Yue was present.
Senior Colonel Li Shangjie, Defence Attaché of the Chinese Embassy in Norway, delivered a speech and highlighted that over the past 98 years, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the PLA has upheld its fundamental purpose of serving the the people wholeheartedly and dedicated itself to the liberation and wellbeing of the people. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. China is ready to cooperate with all peace-loving nations in the world to uphold the UN-centered international system and resolutely resist all forms of hegemonism and power politics so that a community with a shared future for humanity can be achieved.
At the reception, the guests watched the photo exhibition Remembering History and Cherishing Peace and the video clip PLA, remarking positively on China’s great contribution to the victory of World War II and China’s constructive role in international security affairs.
